Multiple Fire Departments Respond to Large Fire

Dry conditions and strong winds supported dangerous fire weather potential, and this large grass fire near Wolsey over the weekend.

The area was experiencing hot temperatures in the 80s, strong southernly winds with gusts up to 30 to 40mph, and very dry dewpoints. A Red Flag Warning was in place for critical fire danger. Relief is expected by the middle of the week as a cold front is forecast to drop temperatures and bring chances of rain.
