A mixed bag of weather conditions are being felt in South Dakota. During Thursday morning, the far southeast, including Sioux Falls, was receiving rain showers as temperatures were into the mid-30s.

On the cold side of precipitation, snow and blowing snow can be found. Strong northwest winds have started to increase and are expected to continue throughout the day and into Friday.

As the temperatures continue to drop, road conditions have become slippery. The South Dakota Department of Transportation at 6:30am CDT is reporting icy roads from south-central South Dakota and up toward northeast South Dakota. Some roads in west-central South Dakota were coming in as "slippery." For the latest road conditions from SDDOT, check out their website at sd511.org.
