A Small Hit of Winter Expected

Parts of north-central and northeast are under a Winter Weather Advisory starting later this evening and continuing until Saturday morning.

A low-pressure system in North Dakota and Minnesota is forecast to push cooler temperatures, strong northwest winds, and a quick hit of light snow Friday night into the first part of your Saturday.

Wind Advisories are in effect for two-thirds of South Dakota as wind gusts up to 50mph are expected.

When snow showers push through the region, a reduction of visibility is expected due to the combination of strong winds and falling snow. Not a lot of snow accumulations are in the forecast for amounts remaining under two inches for the north and with little to no accumulations in the south.
