As Halloween approaches, will the weather cause a trick for the little trick-or-treaters, or will it be a treat? The latest models run at 00z on Thursday morning do not agree on either treats or ticks.
The European Model indicates protection for wet conditions across the northern and eastern parts of South Dakota, with the best chances in the far northeast, particularly over the Sisseton, Britton, and Webster areas.

But the European counterparts of the Canadian and American Models disagree, giving dry conditions for most of us, with a few light showers in the far southeast corner for the Canadian Model.

On the temperature side of things, the European Model continues to lean towards the trick with temperatures into the 30s and 40s, with the Canadian and American Model giving more of a treat with temperatures mainly into the 40s and 50s at 7:00pm CDT.

Needless to say, it is still up in the air. You can check on the latest model runs anytime at our Weather Maps page.
