First System Brings Traveling Issues across the West

The first storm system that brought several inches of snow to parts of South Dakota caused travel issues on South Dakota roads.

The Harding County Sheriff's Office in northwest South Dakota, posted this image on their Facebook page of the semi that lost control on State Highway 79 due to icy conditions.

Harding County was not alone, as the Meade County Sheriff's Office responded to a vehicle rollover crash on Friday morning. The sheriff's office warned motorists to slow down as highways within the county were slick. Luckily, the driver in this picture wore a seatbelt and was not injured.

As conditions slowly improved on Friday, very difficult or impossible traveling conditions are expected later this weekend and into Monday. For the latest road conditions in South Dakota, visit the state's website at https://www.sd511.org/.
