Your Christmas Eve looks to continue with mainly dry weather during the day, with afternoon highs in the 30s and 40s in the north, the 40s and 50s in the south, and a few 60s in the southwest.

Then tonight, temperatures will drop back into the 20s and 30s across the north and east and the 40s in the southwest. Areas of fog and drizzle, possibly freezing drizzle depending on temperatures across the east, with the best chances along and east of Interstate 29. This could cause slippery conditions on Christmas morning.

On Christmas Day, expect morning fog, freezing drizzle, and regular drizzle in the eastern areas. It wouldn't be surprising if the fog and drizzle linger a bit longer in northeast South Dakota. The east will experience thicker cloud cover compared to the west, where record high temperatures are possible in the southwest, reaching the mid-60s. The northeast will be cooler, with highs only in the 30s, while the southeast will see temperatures in the 30s and 40s, and the northwest will have highs in the 40s and 50s.
