For the second consecutive evening and overnight, the southwest experienced strong to severe thunderstorms. Saturday night was no different, with storms bringing winds of up to 60 mph at times.

The peak winds were reported about 12 miles east of Oelrichs, followed by a 56mph wind gust 4 miles northeast of Martin. Below is the complete storm wind gusts report from the National Weather Service.
The southwest was not the only region in South Dakota that saw intense storms. Up in Corson County a couple storms became severe for large hail.

These thunderstorms continue their track northeast, impacting the Mobridge area early this morning.

No official reports of hail or winds were reported with these storms.
The third round of strong to severe thunderstorms is expected once again, with a higher risk of severe thunderstorms across the northwest.
