Early Friday morning, thunderstorms moving northeast in Nebraska reached the southeastern tip of South Dakota, delivering much-needed rain. While none of these storms were severe, they did produce hail roughly the size of nickels a few miles northwest of Norfolk, Nebraska.

There remains a chance of a few isolated thunderstorms today ahead of cooler air that will filter in, bringing a chance of freezing rain and snow. Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for accumulations of ice and snow.
