+70mph Blustery Winds for South Dakota

Intense arctic air moved southward across the region, accompanied by strong, blustery winds gusting over 70mph at times, bringing a shock to the system after several days of above-normal temperatures.


Feels Like Temperatures for South Dakota on January 16th.


The strongest MID or Personal Weather Station wind gusts were reported about three miles northwest of Whitewood in western South Dakota, with a gust of 77mph. Ellsworth Air Force Base was not too far away, with a gust of 74mph, and at the Buffalo Airport, a gust of 72mph. These reports are run from midnight to midnight on Friday.
