Winter returns for some across the north and east as a band of snow developed during Friday night and continued into Saturday morning. The Brookings County Sheriff's Office posted this pictures on Facebook and warned drivers with the combination of snow falling and strong winds had created some low visibilities across the county.

They warned motorists to slow down, increase the distance between vehicles, and have their headlights on. At around 7:42 am CST, the South Dakota Department of Transportation reported scattered slippery spots, mainly in north-central and east-central South Dakota.

The snow is expected to continue to push eastward and be out of South Dakota by this afternoon. Colder temperatures are expected to remain in the region for the weekend, ahead of warmer air for the work week.
