Those who like winter weather and snow will "love" this South Dakota forecast for Valentine's Day.
Scattered light snow or light mixture is expected today ahead of the main event that will start later tonight.
A band of snow will develop over western, South Dakota and then move from west to east on Wednesday bringing accumulating snow to many. Wednesday night, the snow will continue eastward in Minnesota and Iowa and come to an end in South Dakota.
The highest amounts of snow will be along US Highway 14 down towards Interstate 90. From Rapid City over to Wall and Philip and then eastward to Pierre to Miller, Huron, and then over by Brookings and Madison could see three to six inches.
Another chance of snow comes to southern and western, South Dakota on Thursday bringing the risk for additional snow accumulations.
