Wet conditions are expected to affect South Dakota late in the weekend and into the beginning of Halloween week.

The next weather system is expected to move into our region by Sunday, bringing a chance of rain across the west or even light snow in the higher elevations of the Black Hills. These chances look to continue into Monday as rain spreads eastward with additional chances for the eastern half on Tuesday.
Forecast models from the 12Z run on Friday indicate the highest precipitation across parts of eastern South Dakota, with some locations potentially seeing around an inch by Tuesday evening. The new data shows parts of the northwest may receive precipitation amounts of a half inch to an inch.

There's a chance that a few snowflakes might appear next week. Discover if your location is included by visiting our NEW local weather pages. You can also check the forecasted precipitation amounts for your area.
