Strong Thunderstorms Possible

Over the past several days, the region has seen pop-up showers and thunderstorms that develop in the afternoon and quickly disappear around sunset. Today brings a different element for stronger thunderstorms to develop.

A stationary front will position itself across eastern regions of South Dakota on Wednesday, a focus point for these strong thunderstorms. These storms could carry large hail and damaging winds through the afternoon and into the evening hours.

Then on Thursday, another round of showers and thunderstorms are possible with an isolated strong to severe thunderstorm is possible. Hail and gusty winds are the main threat with these storms as well.
