Updates on Friday's Snowfall Forecast

Thursday morning update shows snow amounts to be the heaviest across northeast, South Dakota. The National Weather Service has already issued Winter Storm Warnings from midnight tonight and going through Friday. Snow amounts in those regions can range from five to nine inches with some isolated higher amounts.


Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for parts of north-central, South Dakota and Winter Storm Watches remain for western regions of northeast, South Dakota, and down towards east-central and southeast, South Dakota. There remains some uncertainty on the amounts of snow in those areas. At this time, snow amounts are forecast to be from three to six inches with some higher amounts being possible.


The out west over the Black Hills, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the northern Black Hills where the region can see two to four inches with some isolated higher amounts.
