Winter Weather Alerts Up for the Southwest

Thanksgiving may look more like winter for those in fall southwest, South Dakota as snow will continue to spread over the area.

Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for a few counties in the southwest corner of the state and will continue through today and into Friday morning.

Total snow accumulations from this event will range from three to six inches in the advisory area. As you move more east and north, the amounts of snow will decrease with areas like Rapid City, Wanblee, and over to Rosebud seeing an inch or less.

Here is a look at the simulated radar from the High-Resolution Rapid Refresh weather model. The times on the map are in central time.
