The storm that brought rains to the east last night will now bring wraparound snow showers to parts of the northeast tonight and into Wednesday.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for a few counties in the northeast for snow and areas of blowing snow. Snow is expected to move into north-central and northeast regions later this evening and continue through the overnight hours. The snow showers are expected to decrease as we move closer to Wednesday evening.
Snow amounts look to be the heaviest from the Clark area up towards Webster and near the Lake City area, where six inches are possible.
Besides the risk of accumulations, these snowflakes will blow sideways as strong winds out of the northwest are forecast to have gusts up to 50mph at times. This will create areas of blowing snow and reduced visibility at times.
