The state of South Dakota has announced that Interstate 29 will be closing at 8:00 pm Central Time from Watertown to the North Dakota / South Dakota state line. The South Dakota Department of Transportation stated that no travel advisories are expected to be placed on secondary highways in northern South Dakota as weather and road conditions are expected to deteriorate.
The agency warns motorists not to use secondary highways to avoid the Interstate closure.
