A couple of lines of severe thunderstorms once again brought another punch of wind gusts over 70mph to South Dakota on Wednesday morning.

Thunderstorms from western South Dakota were moving across north-central South Dakota and continued to head east, while another line of storms that developed in Nebraska headed north. Both of these lines had intense damaging winds, with the strongest winds reported two miles northwest of Huron at 82 mph. Further south, near Lower Brule, a storm blew 80mph gusts as it pushed its way through the region.

58mph winds in the Plakinton area brought tree branches from three to four inches in diameter to the ground.

North of Willow Lake, emergency responders were called to a capsized boat due to strong storm winds.
In Carpenter, Northeast, South Dakota, a door was torn off a machine shed, and there was other sheet metal damage to a building. About three miles east of town, a cattle pod and a grain bin were damaged by storm winds.
