Nuisance Snows

The last snow for the year 2021 is making its way across the southern and eastern regions of South Dakota. This snow is forecast to continue through the morning and into the early afternoon before moving eastward into Minnesota.

Snowfall amounts are expected to be one inch or less with a band of higher amounts ranging from Chamberlain up towards Huron, Brookings, and Watertown. Amounts look to be from 1 to 3 inches. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for the area. For the latest information on the advisory, check out our Weather Alerts page.

Behind the snows, very cold air will push into the region bring wind chill readings down into the 20s, 30s, and even 40s below zero.

An additional winter storm is forecast to move south of us impacting Nebraska and Iowa as Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for the weekend. If you are planning on traveling in this area, plan on snowfall amounts from 9 to 12 inches.
