The third round of severe thunderstorms looks to amp up later today and into the evening and overnight hours as severe storms are likely from a line from Winner up towards Huron and over to Sisseton and points east. Severe storms are possible west of that line covering southwest, central, and parts of the northeast, South Dakota.
Unlike the past two days of severe weather, all forms of severe weather from tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds are on the table. Tornadoes are possible across south-central, southeast, east-central, and northeast, South Dakota.
Large hail and damaging winds are the most likely with these thunderstorms with the main focus in eastern, South Dakota.
Then after today, another round of severe weather is expected with an increased tornado threat.
