Bikers and those in western regions of South Dakota may see strong to severe thunderstorms this Tuesday evening with large hail and damaging winds being the main threat with these storms.
An upper-level shortwave is expected to develop in Canada and into the northern Rockies. Along with an upper ridge over the area, this will increase the flow into the region. This will create some development of thunderstorms into Montana and Wyoming and then eventually into western regions of South Dakota during the evening.
Thunderstorm chances will become more widespread across the state as we move into Wednesday, but at this time, no severe weather is expected.
