Sunday's Strong Storms and Wintry Mix

Updated: Oct 22, 2022

Ahead of a storm system forecast to impact the area on Sunday and the start of the work week will help us warm up today and into Saturday with above-normal temperatures. High temperatures for Saturday look to be into the 70s and 80s from southern winds pushing in the warm air.

By late Sunday showers are expected to develop with some thunderstorms over the east. Some of these storms could become strong to severe in far eastern, South Dakota mainly along and east of Interstate 29.

Behind the system, colder air will push into the region, giving those in western, South Dakota to see a mixed bag of precipitation Sunday night and into Monday.

At this time, snow amounts look to be minor with the possibility of a few inches in the Black Hills. Here is a look at the EURO's forecast snowfall through Monday.
