A couple of severe thunderstorms moved across far southeast South Dakota on Wednesday, dropping large hail.

At 7:44pm CDT, the city of Elk Point received hail to the size of quarters (1.00") as a severe thunderstorm from Nebraska moved northeast.

The only other hail report from Wednesday evening was up towards Wentworth of where hail just under the size of pennies (0.70") was recorded.

Severe thunderstorms are not expected today but the risk for snow comes for Friday.
