Tornado Near Mobridge

A complex of thunderstorms traveling along the Missouri River on Sunday afternoon eventually produced a tornado near Mobridge, South Dakota, causing damage.

A storm chaser reported that a tornado east of Mobridge caused an SUV with a trailer to flip over and brought down power lines. Radar estimates suggest this occurred around 12:43 PM CDT, approximately three miles northeast of Indian Creek Recreation Area.

Fortunately there has been no injuries reported. There were reports of damage to property and powerlines, but nothing too significant.
Walworth County Emergency Management
Another report from the public, located about eight miles northeast of Wakpala, indicated a tornado on the ground at approximately 1:15 pm CDT.
This storm also produced strong winds, with Emergency Management in Walworth County reporting wind speeds between 60 and 70 mph in Mobridge.
