Crews Provide Shelter During Storm at Crash Scene

During Friday evening, the Ogala Sioux Tribe Highway Safety and the Alpha One Fire and Rescue were called to a motorcycle accident south of Manderson during a severe thunderstorm.

Due to the minimal availability of ambulances at the time, the rider was provided shelter during a severe thunderstorm until EMS transport arrived.

The driver of the motorcycle swerved to avoid hitting a deer and caused the accident. According to the Alpha One Fire and Rescue, the driver sustained serious injuries and was transported by EMS.
