Digging Out and More Coming

This long-last winter storm continues for today as Blizzard Warnings for the west have been extended until noon on Friday, along with Winter Storm Warnings for north-central, northeast, and east-central South Dakota. The southeast is under a Winter Weather Advisory until noon as well. For the latest weather alerts for your location, please visit our weather alerts page.

Already crews throughout the state have been digging out from several inches to a couple of feet of snow.

Many first responders and highway crews are advising no travel from western to central and now even parts of eastern South Dakota. Interstate 90 remains closed from Rapid City to Mitchell and Interstate 29 from Watertown to the North Dakota/South Dakota state line. Also, our neighbor to the north has Interstate 94 closed from Dickinson to Jamestown, and towards the south in Nebraska, parts of Interstate 80 are closed this morning.
