Hold On, Strong Winds Ahead

The last couple of days we have been dealing with strong winds across the state. The strongest winds were reported in western, South Dakota with a wind gust of 61mph recorded four miles east of Cactus Flat along Interstate 90.

The winds will stay around today with gusts from 30 to 45mph across the southern and eastern regions of the state.

By the overnight hours, we will see a break in the winds for eastern, South Dakota before the next round of gusty winds starts moving in the west. By tomorrow, the winds will crank up with the northwest seeing gusts into the 40 to 50mph range.

By Friday, additional strong winds are expected with the strongest winds seen this week in eastern, South Dakota.
