A low pressure system along with a cold front will bring warm air ahead of the system this weekend and cooler air for the start of the work week. With this setup, there is actually a risk for some strong to severe thunderstorms for late Sunday across the far southeast region of the state and into southern Minnesota and much of Iowa.

Temperatures on Sunday are forecast to be into the lower 70s in the southeast to the lower 50s in the northwest.
