Winter Storm Strikes Over the Weekend

A winter storm affected South Dakota on Saturday, resulting in over 6 inches of snow in some areas, travel disruptions, and strong winds.

In southeast South Dakota, the South Dakota Highway Patrol reported roads snowy, icy, and with limited visibility. Troopers with the agency responded to several crashes, including this rollover crash.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office reported the same conditions and shared that they responded to an injury crash on Interstate 29 near the Lennonx/Parker Exit on Saturday morning. Other first responders were on scene, and the South Dakota Highway Patrol is leading the crash investigation.
