The first round of wintry precipitation brought half a foot of snow to parts of the northeast Tuesday morning.

Waves of precipitation, including rain, snow, and a wintry mix, will continue through today and into tonight before ending late Wednesday.

A mixture of precipitation returns later today for the west and spreads eastward by tonight.
