Strong and destructive winds, equivalent to those of a severe thunderstorm, caused damage and power outages in western South Dakota overnight.

A complex of thunderstorms traveling along the Missouri River on Sunday afternoon eventually produced a tornado near Mobridge, South Dakota, causing damage.

A few thunderstorms developed Thursday evening, and one isolated storm in west-central South Dakota brought large hail.
